Research for cooperation in development assistance
ICCO is the inter-church organization for development cooperation. Working in 44 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin-America, ICCO builds bridges between the business community and international cooperation.
ICCO called on the Socioneers to conduct scoping research in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. We organized stakeholder-sessions and workshops on how digital tools can empower communities and create opportunities for (financial) independence.
Peer-to-peer financial systems such as Bitcoin are sparking entrepeneurship across the globe. Currently we are spearheading a programme to educate young people in the use of these new systems. This programme is aimed at communities where online payment is restricted or internet-structure is underdeveloped.
As part of this programme we are developing a digital currency for independent use within educational programs in high-schools and universities.
